Online Bill Payment

Each month, around the 7th you should receive a billing statement. Your energy bill is due and payable when the statement is received. Final day to pay the net amount is the 20th of the month, unless the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday. In that case, it may be paid the following regular work day. Failure to receive a bill does not exempt you from monthly payment, late charges or disconnection. Please contact our office if you do not receive your bill.

Bills can be paid in person, by mail, automatically through your bank account, or electronically from this website. Payments are considered “received” when they get to our office. To learn more about the options available to you, click on any of the links to the right.

Understanding Your Bill

Bill Type: Describes the type of bill such as Budget, Regular, Estimated, and Prorated, etc.

Demand: Demand is the amount of electricity you require at a given point in time.

Deposit: Assessed based on previous credit history and/or disconnection.

Due Date: Last day the bill can be paid before a late payment charge is assessed.

Facility Charge: A fixed monthly charge that reflects cost to have facilities in place and available for use. This monthly charge remains the same, regardless if electricity is used. The facility charge helps to cover the cost of billing, maintenance of electrical equipment and meters.

IL State Utility Tax: In accordance with Illinois Law, this tax is based on the number of kilowatt hours used.

Kilowatt-hour (kWh): Standard measurement for electricity. One KWh equals 1,000 watts of electricity used for one hour.

Map Location: Numbers and/or letters that indicate the metering point on McDonough Power Cooperative’s mapping system. May be used in reporting outages.

Meter Reading: Used to determine quantity of kilowatt-hours used for billing.

Multiplier: The meter is calibrated so that it takes X (use multiplier # here) pulses to register one kWh. Multipliers are usually put on services that are handling larger loads so that the meter is not constantly pulsing.

PPAC: It is the variable portion of your power rate. The cost of power that your cooperative purchases from its wholesale power supplier (PPI) fluctuates from month to month depending on the cost of fuel used to generate electricity.

Service Address: The address where the meter is located.
