McDonough Power Cooperative recently welcomed students from the McDonough County CEO Program for an educational visit focused on cooperatives and the electric utility industry.

During their time at the cooperative, students learned about the unique cooperative business model, how McDonough Power serves its members, and key operational and statistical information about the organization. Staff members from various departments introduced themselves, shared an overview of their roles, and discussed the different paths that led them to careers at the cooperative.

The visit also gave students the opportunity to ask insightful questions about daily operations, career opportunities, and the challenges and rewards of working in the energy industry. Their engagement made for a meaningful and interactive discussion.

The session concluded with a live line safety demonstration, providing a powerful, hands-on look at the importance of electrical safety and the work performed by lineworkers each day.
